675. Aurelia Marie FALCON

Aurelia was a religious woman and everyone that knew her seemed to have much respect for her. Once when she was a young girl, she almost drown in Bayou Lafouche but was saved by a man named Sam Rodrigue. Walter and Aurelia liked to dance and were good dancers.

DEATH: She died of cancer.


676. Novelia Marie FALCON

Occupation: Novelia and her husband, Harry Dugas, had a cafe in Donaldsonville for many years. They lived behind the cafe. It is now a sports shop run by their son Larry. I have spent several summers with them as a kid and they went out of their way to entertain me. Such as trips to Alabama, New Orleans etc.

DEATH: Novelia died after several years of suffering with alhiemers disease. She got to the point where she was like a vegetable


677. Evans Joseph FALCON Sr.

He didn't have much money, but he had everything else. He used to write songs. He never really hit on one, but he sure had some good songs. His son-in-law, Roy Hays, hit one with Fats Dominoe, "I'm Gonna be a Wheel Someday". I have one record by Uncle Evans, "Songs for Lovers".

DEATH: Evans died with cancer.

Occupation: He retired from Exxon.


Hilda Jane HIMEL

Obituary: A devoted mother and a loving housewife, she died at 11:04 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2000, at her home in Baton Rouge. She was 78 and a native of Geismar. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and after 8 a.m. Saturday. Religious services in the fu-neral home chapel at 10 a.m. Saturday. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by seven daughters, Alice Hayes, Judy Schittone, Susan Schittone and Mona Stuart, all of Baton Rouge, Hilda Vicknair, LaPlace, and Patsy Rhodes and Kathy Ulbright, both of Gonzales; two sons, Evans Joseph Falcon Jr. and Danny John Falcon, both of Baton Rouge; a nephew, Robert James Smith; 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grand-children; and many other nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nel-son Himel, who lived in Geismar; three sisters, Mildred Himel, Elsie Adams and Genevieve Marchand; five brothers, John "Jone," Joe, Wilson "Sonny," Raymond "Ray" and Theo "T." Himel; her husband, Evans Joseph Falcon; a daughter, Betty Jane Collier; a son, Carey Paul Falcon; and a granddaughter, Kim Marie Collier.

680. Joseph Kilbert FALCON

Obituary: A retired employee of Exxon Co. USA and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 4:20 a.m. Friday, June 5, 1998, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Cen-ter. He was 91 and a native of Brusly McCall. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home chapel, 9595 Florida Blvd., 9 a.m. until re-ligious services at 2:30 p.m. Satur-day, conducted by Dr. Robert Bu-chanan. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by wife, Ruth Berot Falcon, Baton Rouge; two daughters and a son-in-law, Myrtle Beck and Marian F. and Emmett Batson, all of Baton Rouge; a son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Jewell Falcon, Atlanta; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, four brothers and three sisters. He was of the Bap-tist faith and a member of Istrou-ma Lodge No. 414, F&AM. His body was interred June 6, 1998 in Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA.

Obituary: A loving mother and grand-mother and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 6:45 p.m. Tues-day, Aug. 14, 2001, at St. James Place. She was born Oct. 15, 1910, in Donaldsonville. Visiting was at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday. Visiting in the funeral home chapel from 11 a.m. until re-ligious services at 1 p.m. Friday, conducted by Brother Sid Newell. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by two daughters, Myrtle Beck of Walker and Ma-rian Batson and husband Emmett of Baton Rouge; a son, Ray Falcon and wife Jewell of Atlanta; eight grandchildren, Karen Piper of Portland, Ore., David Beck of Gonzales, Janice Beck of Las Vegas, Sherry Dickerson of Den-ham Springs, Linda Harris and Wanda Caruso, both of Baton Rouge, Terri Buch of Greenwood, S.C., and Randy Falcon of New York; three stepgrandchildren, Lea Anne Hyman, Andrew Batson and Edward Batson, all of Baton Rouge; 13 great-grandchildren, five stepgreat-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph K. Falcon; mother, Aline D'Lavilvares Berot; father, Ed-ward S. Berot; a sister, Myrtle Berot; and four brothers, Lynn, Curtis, Robert and Clemmon Berot. Pallbearers will be Ray Caruso, Chris Harris, Blake Dick-erson, Jacob Beck, C.J. White, Randy Falcon and Dwayne Piper.

Obituary: Nov. 28, 1932- Dec. 21, 2004
ABBEVILLE - Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at a Mass Christian Burial in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church for Alice Joyce Richard Falcon, who died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery. The Rev. Glenn Meaux will be officiating for the services.  She was a loving wife, wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved to travel and visit the beach. She is survived by her husband, Clifford Falcon, of Abbeville; six sons, Michael Falcon and his wife, Betty, of Erath, Samuel Falcon and his wife, Judith, of Big Woods, Daniel Fal -con of Lafayette, James Falcon and his wife, Debbie, of Morse, William Falcon and his wife, Tanya, of Big Woods, and John Falcon; of Abbeville; two daughters, Denise Frederick and her husband, Charles, of Abbeville, and Gayla Falcon, of Abbeville; three brothers, Wilton Richard, of Campbell, Texas, Pervis Richard, of Shaw, Miss., and Del- ton Richard, of Texarkana, Texas; five sisters, Delta Corner, of Abbeville, Rita Mouton, of Cow Island, Mary Richard, of Abbeville, Nydia Nunez of Erath, and Florence "Jean" Hebert, of Ossun; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Nydia Chiasson Richard; and two sisters, Laural Cabrol and Rosalie Meaux.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Falcon's name to the American Lung Association (on research for asthma), 2325 Severn, Suite 8, Metairie, LA 70001-6918, (504) 828-5864.
